This guidance is intended only for individuals who wish to stand as candidates in the upcoming elections.
The Notice of Election provides detailed information on how to submit your nomination papers. Please note:
- Nomination papers must be hand-delivered to the designated office during specific dates and times. Refer to the Notice of Election for full details.
- Nomination packs and the candidates’ contact details form are available at the bottom of this page in the Documents
- The nomination booking link will go live on Wednesday 9 September 2026.

Completing Your Nomination Papers

If you have any questions about the process, please email candidates@wiltshire.gov.uk.
Subscribers who sign your nomination paper must appear on the Electoral Register dated 1 September 2026. The register was re-published on 1 December 2025, so please ensure you are using the correct version when checking subscriber electoral registration numbers.
Candidates are welcome to call Electoral Services on 0300 0112 456 with the full name and address of the subscriber and we can provide electoral registration numbers.
Accessibility
Each polling station will be provided with equipment to assist electors to cast their vote. The polling staff will be happy to help electors with any questions they have on the process. See our accessibility page for more information.
Voter ID
Voter ID is required to vote in the polling station. Please visit the Electoral Commission for further information and a list of acceptable identification.
